[Judas takes another swig.]

Are you subject to the Romulans as we were the Romans? They raped our country and kept us oppressed and living in fear.

[He'd like to go find Nero and stab him in the face at the moment. Instead, he takes another drink.]

I was made by them and then abandoned. They made slaves of my people. I spent my youth doing hard labor.

[Another drink.]

And then I organized a coup and took power. [And, you know. Killed the whole senate in agonizing fashion.]

[Oh my. Killing isn't really in Judas's style. But he takes a drink instead. He prefers to sit back and sing about his feeeeelings instead. No, he's not gay. Yet.]

You would get along with Simon.

[He's super gay. That, or he's a pussy. Shinzon demands courage! Or something.]

Who's Simon?

[Shinzon's more likely to get the 'or something' part.]

A fellow Apostle of mine. He was prone to rioting.

[And with that comes the memory of being arrested and interrogated. As such, he takes another drink. By this point, he's starting to feel a little but of a buzz, warmth in his face, and the unrelenting desire to cry or hate on something. His life sucks, right? He's dead, stuck on some prison ship where no one understands him. Baaaaaaaaw Judas.]

[Eh. Better than nothing. Shinzon arches an eyebrow.]

Was he successful?

[Bawww indeed. Poor guy. :(]

[Judas scrubs a hand over his face, feeling a little more world-weary than he remembered.]

Very.

[Shinzon watches, leaning against the desk.]

And what did he gain?

[Judas pauses a little, his brain is getting a little fuzzy and his lips loosening.]

Renown. He wanted to be known as the one who changed history. Half of Jesus's Apostles wanted that. Over half.

[Shinzon has no problem using alcohol to his advantage.]

But did he accomplish anything?

[Such a meanie. Judas presses a hand to his eyebrow, trying to clear his thoughts. He's not used to saying so much.]

He got me arrested, which made a few people happy.

Why? [Yes, Shinzon will just keep quietly pressing the subject.]

[Judas looks up from his cup at Shinzon.]

Why I was arrested? Or why people were happy?

Why don't you answer both? [Shinzon takes another sip, watching Judas over his cup.]

[Judas looks hesitant for a few moments before he nods, but not without first taking another sip of his wine. Goddamn Galileans and their strong wine.]

At first I thought it was because I was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

[The Apostle blinks a few times as they too are starting to feel the effects of the alcohol.]

They needed me. The Sanhedrin. They wanted Jesus and the best way to get to him would be through me.

[Judas presses a hand back to his eyebrow.]

But I wasn't well-liked by the other Apostles. I argue with Jesus a lot.

What's wrong with argument? [He watched Judas continue to drink and didn't try to stop him, watching idly.]

[Judas has to pause as he blinks a few more times. He sets his cup on the table and blows out a breath.]

I apologize, Annas.

[After a few moments of re-gathering himself, he answers:] I don't know. I questioned because I was worried about us stepping out of line. The Romans could have crushed us without even trying.

[He nods, still studying Judas. Doesn't take long to come to the conclusion that he's a coward. Shinzon doesn't have a whole lot of patience for cowards.]

And did they?

[Judas nods somberly.]

They killed Jesus. Crucified him from what I've read.

[He runs a hand over his peach fuzz, guilt starting up in him and the urge to cry growing. Drinking makes him argumentative or emo and right now its working on the latter urge.]

[Hey, it gives Shinzon all the juicy goods. But you know what? He's a real pal. No, really. :| So he's reaching out to slide the cup away from Judas.] I'm sorry.

[Judas looks up at the movement but his eyes are bleary enough, his face heated up enough for him to know that he's hit his limit, if not a little past. He rubs his hand across his face.]

He was... I...

[Oh dear, the waterworks are starting up a little.]

He was what? [Oh hell, don't cry. :| Shinzon has no patience for crying. He stands, and offers Judas a hand, placing his free one on the other man's shoulder.] Let me help you to your room.

[Judas looks up again at the touch on his shoulder and nods briefly.]

I apologize, my friend.

[Shinzon just nods, because ff. He thinks Judas is very close to useless, but has no reason to say so just yet. So he helps Judas up, moving toward his door.]

[Judas staggers a little and he fully realizes that he's had certainly too much Galilean wine as well as underestimated how strong it is.]
